“Inspirational leadership”

Involves the leader´s ability to chase a dream and to achieve that the collaborators embark on the same path whilst doing their share, go beyond the mere achievement of business objectives, so that the teams no longer follows the guidelines of a person but rather pursue a vision along with their leader.

The inspiring leader is the one who is moved by a transcending purpose which he shares with his team to guide them and accompany them on their achievement.

The excitement, as the center of human inspiration, is the key tool that the inspiring leader will manage in order to achieve an emotionally shared goal with his team.

 The excitement, as the center of human inspiration, is the key tool the inspiring leader will manage in order to achieve an emotionally shared goal with his team.

The “inspirational leadership” implies the leader’s capacity to go beyond the mere achievement of business objectives, so that the teams no longer follow the guidelines of a person but rather pursue a prevailing vision along with their leader.

 The inspiring leader is the one who is moved by a transcending purpose which he shares with his team to guide them and accompany them on their achievement. Thus the inspiring leader goes from having utter followers to have “Inspired Followers” who work by and for a superior objective.

 

The cycle of the “Inspiring Leader” consists of six phases:

1.       Explanation of the reason for the decision-making to the team

2.       Decision-making readjustment based on the team´s input 

3.       Abetment during the decision´s implementation

4.       External results dissemination through the team

5.       Data analysis of the activity performed

6.       Convey the “leadership know-how”

 

Attributes of the inspiring leader:

a)   Personal values, such as self-confidence, integrity, transparency, and/or loyalty

b) Company’s strategy, such as the “Big Picture” knowledge or the evolution of the market

c) Business vision, such as the projection into the future and the capacity for innovation

d) Team integration, through provision of information, the assumption of failures and “Low Profile” in the treatment.

 

How does the figure of the inspiring leader affect to the company?

1.       Provides an inspiring vision and an alignment with the organization’s strategy.

2.       Helps people relate the objectives of the organization with their personal goals.

3.       Discusses opportunities and promotes creativity.

4.       Involves people, strengthens the team´s confidence and puts into practice the “Crowdsourcing”.

5.       Trains and empowers teams.

6.       Promotes teamwork and manages the diversity.

7.       Encourages risk-taking
